Fishing

You are rarely alone on the pier
In the sea, you can fish without a permit.
For inland waters, tourists need a permit, which must be applied for in Cagliari. It takes about 3 months to process the application. The official page of the Region of Sardinia for this application can be found here.
For some waters you can also buy a day licence at the respective municipality or sometimes at a bar in the nearest village.
Many lagoons on the coast are privately owned. There are then prohibition signs (divieto di pesca) that you should take seriously.
In the inland reservoirs you can catch carp, black bass and catfish, in the rivers trout and eels.
When the rivers partially dry up in summer, the fish retreat to the deeper pools.
The beaches invite you to go surf fishing. In the evenings, the anglers stand close together on the beach.
As bait, you can either look for mussels, snails and worms yourself on the shore or buy them in one of the many fishing shops.
Of course, you can also get the necessary equipment and lots of advice there.
The Sardinians, who fish a lot on the beach themselves, are quite open and will be happy to give you a tip on the spot.
